# Get the IIT expert

IIT Expert has two parts, and your assistant needs both. The connector gives it
the primary IIT literature; the skill tells it to read those sources before
answering, instead of relying on what it already believes about IIT.

IIT Expert is a work in progress: the corpus and glossary are still being
checked against the sources.

## claude.ai and Claude Desktop

These add the connector and the skill separately. For the connector, no account
or install is needed:

1. Open **Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector**.
2. Paste this URL: `https://mcp.learniit.org`
3. Save. There is no login step; the server is public and read-only.

For the skill, download **[the skill](/iit-expert-skill.zip)**, then open
**Settings → Skills → Add** and upload the file.

## Claude Code, Codex and Cursor

One plugin installs the skill and the connector together.

## The connector on its own

Any MCP client can use the connector at `https://mcp.learniit.org`. In Cursor,
[this link](cursor://anysphere.cursor-deeplink/mcp/install?name=iit-expert&config=eyJ1cmwiOiAiaHR0cHM6Ly9tY3AubGVhcm5paXQub3JnIn0=) adds it in one step.

## Computing with PyPhi

To compute IIT quantities, use PyPhi's own MCP server alongside IIT Expert. Its
